Preacher – Rev. Traci Blackmon
Mark 8: 22-25 “Messy Miracles”
Eden Seminary is thrilled to welcome Rev. Traci Blackmon as preacher for the opening convocation to begin the 2024-2025 academic year.
“Pastor. Preacher. Teacher. Public Theologian.
Lover of God and God’s People.”
Rev. Blackmon is a regionally, nationally, and globally-connected leader who has served as pastor-in-residence and lecturer at Eden. She is a 2009 M.Div. graduate of Eden with coursework emphasis in Womanist Liberation Theology.
Rev. Blackmon is former Associate General Minister of the national United Church of Christ (2015-2023) and former pastor of Christ the King United Church of Christ, Florissant, MO. She became nationally recognized and a prominent voice for social change when Michael Brown was shot in Ferguson, MO in 2014. Traci is a registered nurse and was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Rev. Blackmon has received multiple awards including: 2017 Person of the Year in St. Louis, the NAACP Rosa Parks Award, the Urban League of St Louis Woman Leadership Award, and is a national Planned Parenthood Faith Leader.
